Already harboring dreams of becoming an auto technician, Ryan seized the initiative and visited the shop. He eagerly offered to help out during the summer, and his exceptional work ethic quickly became apparent.
Starting as a porter, Ryan’s eagerness to learn impressed the entire team. Technicians began to mentor him, sharing their knowledge and involving him in repair processes whenever possible. Ryan absorbed information rapidly, proving to be a natural in automotive repair and even assisting seasoned techs.
Hands-On Experience Outpaces Formal Education
Despite acceptance to Ferris State for automotive school, Ryan’s summer experience at Motor City Euro Repair proved invaluable. Upon returning home for Christmas, he shared with the team that his hands-on learning at the shop surpassed even an expensive semester of formal education. Recognizing his exceptional potential and commitment, Motor City Euro Repair welcomed Ryan back as an apprentice.
Further investing in his growth, the shop sponsored Ryan’s advanced training at prestigious BMW and Mercedes-Benz schools. He excelled in these programs and subsequently passed all state certification exams, achieving master certification status.
