San Jose is gearing up to be the ultimate destination for soccer fans this summer, hosting a series of vibrant viewing parties for both the prestigious UEFA EURO 2024 and the thrilling Copa América 2024 tournaments. Thanks to a collaboration between the San Jose Earthquakes, the City of San José, and the San Jose Sports Authority, soccer enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the excitement of these international competitions right in their own city.
Building on San Jose’s growing reputation as a Northern California soccer hub – already home to the Earthquakes and Bay FC, and soon to welcome the FIFA World Cup in 2026 and Copa América – this summer promises an непревзойденный soccer experience. Fans will have ample opportunities to gather, celebrate, and witness world-class football action.
UEFA EURO 2024 kicks off on Friday, June 14, culminating in the final showdown on Sunday, July 14. Copa América 2024 follows closely, starting on Thursday, June 20, and also reaching its climax on Sunday, July 14. For all matches starting at 9 a.m. PT or later during both tournaments, the party will be at two popular downtown locations: The Old Wagon Saloon & Grill and O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub. Both venues are conveniently situated on N. San Pedro Street, now a pedestrian-friendly zone, creating a perfect atmosphere for game-day gatherings. For a detailed schedule of all viewing parties, fans can check here.
For select marquee matchups, the viewing experience will be amplified into a full-fledged festival atmosphere at San Pedro Square. A giant outdoor screen and sound system will transform N. San Pedro Street into a live soccer arena. San Pedro Square’s accessibility is another advantage, located near the VTA Santa Clara light rail station and offering easy parking with five nearby Downtown garages providing 90 minutes of free parking, with real-time availability updates at parksj.org.
Beyond downtown, the Mexican Heritage Plaza will also host a large outdoor viewing party on Wednesday, June 26, for the highly anticipated México vs. Venezuela Copa América match. And for the ultimate viewing experience, both tournament finals will be held at PayPal Park, the home of the San Jose Earthquakes. Imagine the energy as fans gather to watch the UEFA EURO 2024 final and the Copa América final on the big screens in a stadium setting!
