CHICAGO | NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 22, 2024) – The U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) is set to face Iceland at GEODIS Park in Nashville, presented by AT&T, on Sunday, Oct. 27th at 4:30 p.m. CT. This match marks the second game for the USWNT following the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Soccer fans can catch the action live on TNT, Max, Telemundo, and Peacock. This game is the latter half of a two-game series against Iceland, with the first match in Austin, Texas on Oct. 24th.
This fall game will be the USWNT’s second appearance at GEODIS Park. Their debut at the stadium, the largest soccer-specific stadium in the USA and Canada, was on Feb. 19th, 2023, where they secured a 1-0 victory against Japan in the SheBelieves Cup, cheered on by 24,471 fans. GEODIS Park has also become a familiar ground for the United States Men’s National Team, who hosted Ghana there in an international friendly on Oct. 17, 2023, winning 4-0.
Iceland comes into this friendly match ranked 14th globally and eighth in Europe. They recently achieved second place in Group A4 in the UEFA Women’s Euro Qualifiers, confirming their place in the 2025 tournament. Their successful Euro qualifier campaign demonstrates their competitive edge and makes them a formidable opponent for the USWNT. The last encounter between the USA and Iceland was on Feb. 23, 2022, in Frisco, Texas, where the USA triumphed with a 5-0 win in the final match of the SheBelieves Cup.
