San Jose is gearing up for an electrifying summer as the epicenter of soccer in Northern California, hosting spectacular viewing parties for both the 2024 Copa América and UEFA EURO 2024 tournaments, including the highly anticipated Copa Euro Final. This unprecedented three-year soccer bonanza, featuring local giants Earthquakes and Bay FC alongside international powerhouses, ensures non-stop action for every fan.
From June 14th to July 14th, soccer aficionados can immerse themselves in the beautiful game. UEFA EURO 2024 kicks off on Friday, June 14, culminating in the final on Sunday, July 14. Copa América follows closely, starting Thursday, June 20, also reaching its climax on Sunday, July 14. San Jose, in partnership with the City of San José and the San Jose Sports Authority, is rolling out Summer of Soccer viewing parties across the city for every matchday.
For those early morning kick-offs (9 a.m. PT or later), the party starts at The Old Wagon Saloon & Grill and O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub. These popular spots on N. San Pedro Street, now a pedestrian-friendly zone, will be screening all the action. For a detailed viewing party schedule, check here.
However, the excitement truly ignites at select marquee match viewing parties around San Jose, particularly at San Pedro Square. Picture this: a giant outdoor screen broadcasting live matches with booming sound, creating a vibrant festival atmosphere. San Pedro Square, easily accessible via the VTA Santa Clara light rail, also boasts five nearby Downtown parking garages offering 90 minutes of free parking, with real-time availability updates at parksj.org.
Adding to the city-wide soccer celebration, the Mexican Heritage Plaza will host a massive outdoor viewing party on Wednesday, June 26, for the highly anticipated México vs. Venezuela match. And for the ultimate soccer showdowns? PayPal Park, the home of the Earthquakes, will be the venue for both tournament finals, including the Copa Euro final, promising an unforgettable experience.
