This sophisticated sensor captures and transmits precise ball movement data in real-time to video match officials. Powered by a rechargeable battery with inductive charging, the technology offers unprecedented insight into every nuance of the ball’s trajectory and touch. By combining this real-time ball data with player positioning information and artificial intelligence, the Connected Ball Technology empowers officials to make faster and more accurate decisions during crucial moments of the game. Developed in collaboration with Kinexon, this technology significantly aids VAR officials in quickly and accurately identifying every ball touch, drastically reducing the time needed to resolve complex incidents like handballs and penalties, ensuring fairer and more efficient officiating.

To celebrate the launch of KONEKTIS, adidas organized a unique training session with national team captain Lia Wälti at the Ottmar Hitzfeld Arena in Gspon, the highest football pitch in Europe, nestled in the Swiss Alps. This symbolic location, 2,000 meters above sea level, provided a stunning backdrop for Wälti to express her pride in playing in her home country. Wälti shared her personal connection to Switzerland, stating, “Switzerland means home, family and peace to me… It’s wonderful that I will get to play in front of my family, my friends, in my home country, and in front of our own fans.”
Aligning with adidas’ commitment to social responsibility, 1% of net sales from the KONEKTIS Official Match Ball will be contributed to Common Goal.
