EuroMillions £83 Million Jackpot Claimed by UK Ticket Holder

A massive EuroMillions jackpot prize, totaling over £83.4 million, has been claimed by a UK ticket holder, lottery operator Allwyn has announced. The winning ticket was purchased in the UK for the draw on January 24th, and the claim comes after a 13-day wait for the lucky winner to come forward.

The winning numbers that secured this life-changing sum were 02, 11, 19, 30, and 49, along with the Lucky Star numbers 03 and 08. This incredible win marks the 23rd largest National Lottery win of all time, injecting excitement and anticipation into the EuroMillions community.

Andy Carter, a senior winners’ advisor at National Lottery operator Allwyn, expressed his delight at the news. “It’s absolutely incredible news that someone has come forward to claim this massive EuroMillions jackpot. We will now focus on validating the ticket and ensuring the prize can be paid out,” he stated. He further added, “Everyone dreams of hitting the jackpot when they buy a EuroMillions ticket, and for this fortunate ticket-holder, that dream has now become an amazing reality. Just imagine the possibilities now open to them.”

Once the validation process is complete and the prize is awarded, the winner will have the option to decide whether to reveal their identity to the public. Unless they choose to go public, details such as where the ticket was purchased or whether the winner is an individual or part of a syndicate will remain confidential, according to Allwyn.

This recent win adds to the UK’s impressive history of EuroMillions success stories. In July 2022, a UK ticket holder, who chose to remain anonymous, claimed the record-breaking EuroMillions jackpot of £195 million. Earlier in the same year, Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester celebrated a £184 million win in May. Adding to this list, the third-largest UK EuroMillions win occurred in November of last year when another anonymous ticket holder scooped a £177 million jackpot.

Despite these significant payouts, there are still unclaimed EuroMillions prizes in the UK. The National Lottery reports that nine prizes remain unclaimed, with the largest being a substantial £1 million. Ticket holders are reminded that they have 180 days from the draw date to claim their winnings, urging players to check their tickets and not miss out on any potential prizes.

The latest £83 million EuroMillions jackpot claim serves as another reminder of the life-changing opportunities this lottery offers and the ongoing excitement it generates across the UK and Europe.
