You can fit 9 characters, including spaces, on a standard euro plate. If you choose to forgo the decal, you can fit a maximum of 10 characters. When planning your custom Euro Plates, remember to count spaces as characters to ensure your desired text fits perfectly.
What about seals on my European plate? How much space do they take?
Seals on euro plates require one full character space. Think of it as using the spacebar once for each seal, or clicking the half space button twice if that’s an option in the design tool. You can creatively place seals above or below a dash or hyphen on your plate. To do this, first add your space or dash where you want the seal, then add the plate to your cart, and finally, add the seals to your cart separately. Please note that our website currently doesn’t offer a preview of seals directly on the plate during the design process.
Are the letters on euro plates just painted on?
No, the letters on our euro plates are not simply painted. For a truly authentic and durable finish, the characters are embossed or pressed directly into the aluminum plate. After embossing, color is baked onto the raised text and border. This process ensures a high-quality, long-lasting finish that’s far superior to painted lettering and gives your euro plates a professional, raised look.
