Visa Fee Updates: Understanding Rouble Euro Rates for Your Application

Applying for a visa involves understanding the associated costs, and it’s essential to be aware of the applicable fees. This guide outlines the updated visa fees, particularly focusing on the Rouble Euro exchange rate relevant to your application. Please note that starting January 1, 2025, there are adjustments to the consular fees, especially for citizens of the Russian Federation.

New Visa Fees for Russian Citizens (Effective January 1, 2025)

For Russian Federation citizens applying for type C visas, the consular fee will be 90 euros per person. This fee is calculated and presented in rubles based on the official rouble euro exchange rate set by the Italian General Consulate in Saint Petersburg. Specifically, the fee is 9630 rubles. For children aged 6 to 12 years old, the visa fee is reduced to 45 euros, equivalent to 4820 rubles. This rouble euro conversion ensures that the fee in rubles accurately reflects the euro amount at the prevailing exchange rate determined by the consulate.

Visa Fees for Other Nationalities

For citizens of Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, the standard visa fee remains at 35 euros. For citizens of the Russian Federation and other nationalities not specified above, the standard visa fee is 90 euros. Urgent visa processing is available under exceptional circumstances for citizens of Belarus and Ukraine at a fee of 70 euros. It’s important to note that urgent visa options for Russian Federation citizens aged 6-12 years are also available under exceptional circumstances, with a fee of 45 euros.

Exemptions from Visa Fees

Certain categories of applicants are exempt from visa fees. These include:

  • Children under 6 years of age.
  • Close relatives of EU and Swiss citizens (spouses, descendants, and ascendants).
  • Applicants for Studio C visas.

Payment of Visa Fees

Payments for visa fees can be conveniently made at the cashier counter of the Italian Visa Center VMS. When paying, especially for Russian citizens, remember that the rouble amount is directly linked to the current rouble euro exchange rate set by the Italian General Consulate.

Understanding the visa fees and the rouble euro exchange rate is a crucial step in your visa application process. Ensure you have the correct amount prepared to avoid any delays.
