UEFA has officially announced its Team of the Tournament for Euro 2024, showcasing a strong Spanish influence with six players selected in the prestigious lineup. Despite England’s journey to the final, Kyle Walker stands as the sole representative from the Three Lions in this esteemed selection. France, who reached the semi-finals, contributes two players, while Germany and Switzerland each have one player making the cut.
Spain’s impressive performance throughout Euro 2024 is reflected in the inclusion of their dynamic wide forwards, Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal, alongside reliable left-back Marc Cucurella. The midfield trio of Rodri, Dani Olmo, and Fabian Ruiz further solidifies Spain’s dominance in the team. Rodri was also named the Player of the Tournament, and Yamal was recognized as the Young Player of the Tournament, both accolades awarded after Spain’s 2-1 victory over England in the final.
France’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan, recognized for his crucial saves that propelled his team to the semi-finals, earns his place in the team alongside teammate and central defender William Saliba.
